De Halve Maan
Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan, idyllically located on the beautiful Walplein, was for a long time Bruges’ last city brewery. Beer has been brewed here on site since 1546. They brew three beers, the “Brugse Zot”, “Straffe Hendrik”, “Blanche de Bruges” and “Sport Zot”. Most known is the “Brugse Zot”, a fruity blonde based on malt, hops and special yeast. The beer refers to the nickname of the people of Bruges which they owe to Maximilian of Austria. Real beer lovers can take a look behind the scenes and join a guided tour. Afterward it is also possible to have a drink in the cozy brasserie. Are the kids coming along for the trip? No problem, for the youngest among us there are also children’s tours organized.

Bryggja Brewery
Bryggja Brewery is a small local brewery located in Moerkerke. The brewery started in 2012. Four friends decided to participate in the Brouwland Beer Competition. From a selection of more than 90 beers, the Bryggja Tripel is chosen by a professional jury as the best hobby beer in Belgium. Because of this push, the friends decided to launch the beer among the people of Bruges. One year later, the second beer was already on the market. Until 2014, the beers were brewed externally. At the end of 2014, they took the step to have their own brewery.
